What does it mean to do your work?

 

Doing your work means unlearning everything you thought was the truth about who you are (like thinking you’ll never be good enough or that your pain is everyone else’s fault).

It means releasing your instincts to push down, deny, and pretend your emotions don’t exist and actually feeling them—despite what you were taught to do.

It means using everything in your life that makes you feel strongly (from your spouse “forgetting” to put their dishes in the dishwasher to your mother giving you the silent treatment) as an opportunity to get clear on what’s working for you and what isn’t.

Doing your work means living an empowered life where you’re not the victim of what’s going on around you.

When you do your work:

 

Your kiddo can be struggling, and rather than jumping in, trying to fix their problems for them (and them getting angry), you’ll be able to recognize what’s not yours to carry, stay in your own lane, and accept them exactly as they are—pain and all.

You won’t take it personally when your ex-mother-in-law refuses to talk to you because “she can’t have a relationship with you if her son doesn’t.”

You’ll see she’s operating with a misunderstanding of what it means to be a good mother, and you won’t have to make it mean anything about you.

You’ll have a voice and tell your boss you’re not willing to take on the work of the last 3 people he fired for the same pay (and you’ll have a voice again when he tries the same shit next month)

I’m Jeana Abarca, fierce lover of truth, former massage therapist turned energy healer, and empath.

When I found energy work during a Lomi Lomi massage training, I was hooked. I spent the next 17+ years digging into the best modalities that helped me actually heal. And because I can’t keep a good thing to myself, I bring all the best tools I learned to my clients too.
